What have I been doing this week?

1. Periscope. This week I have been watching Nom Nom Paleo‘s Periscope videos. I don’t have a compatible phone, so can’t fully participate in Periscope, but it’s quite fascinating and it’s still possible to watch the videos on the Periscope website. Michelle Tam makes it look so effortless and, if I did have a compatible device, I might even be tempted to have a go myself. (If you want to have a look… Some of Michelle’s Periscope videos have been uploaded to the nomnompaleo youtube channel.)

2. Making guacamole. I didn’t like avocados before my diet change, and guacamole was definitely not a favourite. Now I love avocados and I like a simple guacamole. I use Nom Nom Paleo’s guacamole recipe.

3. Eating fresh figs.

4. Shopping for new glasses – and resisting the change.

5. Decluttering. Let Go of These 10 Items to Jumpstart Decluttering

6. Budget Planning. Failing.

7. Drying mint. The house smells so nice! Did you know you can dry mint leaves in the microwave? I’ve also cut some fennel seed heads and have brought them inside to dry.

8. Thinking about meatballs. When we were camping recently, we tried some gluten free meatballs from Tesco. There are two kinds, the plain meatballs taste OK but the Italian meatballs are not very nice. I’m on a mission to find a good meatball recipe – my previous attempts didn’t work out too well – so I’ve added the Hairy Bikers Swedish meatball recipe to my “to try” list. It’ll need some ingredient swaps to make it Paleo, but I like the idea of adding anchovies into the mix. I’ll let you know how I get on.

9. Exercising. Sometimes exercise is difficult (when the pain is bad) so it doesn’t happen. I know that regular exercise should make things better but sometimes, when the exercise is causing me a lot of pain, it’s difficult to know whether it might be doing more harm than good. This week I did some exercise.

10. Procrastinating.
